The Spiked Chain

Fern's weapon is a bit uncommon, and often winds up drawn as a whip by those unfamiliar with it. The Player's Handbook describes a spiked chain as a reach weapon that can be wielded against an adjacent foe as well.  The spiked chain can be wielded with dexterity and finesse instead of brute strength, and it also makes an excellent tripping or disarming weapon.  I've collected a couple reference pictures to help alleviate some of the confusion.
