Kendra & Garras

Warrior-priests of Hextor, allies to our heroes, and happily married, too!

Garras - Garras is an orc-blooded warrior who believes strongly in the order and stability that his religion can provide.  He has demonstrated his loyalty to Hextor by branding his holy symbol onto his own face.  The strong, silent type, Garras is deeply committed to Kendra, and secretly feels that his cruel yet beautiful wife is proof enough of Hextor's blessings.  Garras recently fought alongside the party in their battle against the blasphemous Ebon Aspect, which contained the essences of three gods, including Hextor.  Garras fought valiantly, nearly losing his life in the process, and won the party's respect through his stoic courage.  He has recently been coping with a crisis of faith, most likely brought on by the slaying of an aspect of his god in the company of former enemies.

Kendra - A lovely woman, scarred and hardened by battle, Kendra is a shrewd war priestess who bargained with the party to spare the lives of herself and her husband, Garras.  Since that time, she has become unaccountably friendly towards the group of adventurers, though whether this stems from a legitimate desire for companionship or some darker goal remains to be seen.  Before joining the clergy of Hextor, Kendra maintained a wild, self-destructive lifestyle, and she feels forever indebted for the structure and control the church provided when she needed it most.  Her fun-loving, hedonistic side does show through from time to time, such as when she engaged in a mud wrestling match against Fern.  Kendra and Garras seem to maintain something of an open relationship, which Kendra exploits by being relentlessly flirtatious, particularly with Vincent.  Kendra believes that her seemingly non-lawful behaviors serve Hextor's goals in the long run; any emotion she can make someone feel, any slight measure of control she can gain over another, is a small glory in the name of her god.

UPDATE - Kendra and Garras upheld their promise to protect Talin's sister and brother-in-law from the party's myriad enemies while the team was otherwise occupied with the events of the Champion's Belt.  Garras spotted Raknian attempting to flee the city in the aftermath of his failed attempt to unleash an ulgurstasta upon Greyhawk, and gave chase.  Kendra's obvious concern and distress while awaiting her husband's return revealed an infrequently seen gentler side in the role of the devoted wife.   Tragically, Garras was no match for Raknian's blade, and his body was later recovered.  Kendra disappeared shortly thereafter, and her whereabouts are currently unknown.
