A few years ago, Croidhamsa was traveling with several other Druids in a somewhat remote patch of forest about a half day's journey from Diamond Lake. While searching for a rare species of fern on the banks of a small stream, the Druids quite literally stumbled upon a pair of sleeping Shocker Lizards. Startled by the intruders, the magical creatures discharged several stunning shocks and a burst of lethal electricity. In the ensuing chaos, two of the Druids were knocked unconscious, and both of the Shocker Lizards were slain in self-defense.

After tending to his fellow Druids, Croidhamsa noticed a flicker of motion by the stream. He turned to see a tiny Shocker Lizard hatchling emerging from the broken pieces of an eggshell. The creature looked at Croidhamsa quizzically for a moment, then took a few steps towards him. Croidhamsa held out his hands, and after a bit of coaxing, the hatchling let Croidhamsa pick him up.

Initially, one of the other Druids protested. This was not a natural creature, after all, and its parents had attacked them. But Croidhamsa said that the hatchling was a fellow orphan, and not too different in temperament from a more natural lizard. After much convincing, they agreed to let him keep his newfound friend, and the two have been inseparable ever since.

When Croidhamsa arrived back at home, he picked up the hatchling and looked at him for a few moments, contemplating what to name him. After a while, he idly asked the lizard if he could offer any insight into what sort of name a magical creature might like to have. As if in reply, the creature twitched slightly and let loose a mild electrical jolt. Croidhamsa gasped in surprise, then chuckled at the thought that this burst of electricity was the insight that the creature had to offer. He decided to name his new companion Insight, and the name stuck.

On an interesting side note, Croidhamsa was soon the first among the other Druids-in-training to get the knack of working with the natural energy of lightning and electricity. On stormy afternoons, he and Insight would head into the meadow to listen to claps of thunder and watch the lightning flash as it struck nearby trees.
